While we look forward to Cupid’s day this 14th, ladies and gentlemen, you can “cry a river” with this Cebuano haunting love song. I am NOT kidding!
(This is heartily dedicated for the jilted ones. But I think a beer will help bring out those crystalline waters… of your soul. Rather, grab your iPods, listen and walk all the way to Marcelo H. Fernan Bridge in your deep, soul searching moments. Jumping off the bridge, however, is not a lovely alternative as you would unlikely find your way changing your mind halfway through the plunge). Just click the arrow, below, to start playing this song.
This is a beautiful, bittersweet, heart-wrenching, and outright funny — all rolled into one, tongue-in-cheek homegrown song from Missing Filemon.
Missing Filemon is a Cebuano rock band. They have the distinction of being the first Cebuano band to ever produce an album consisting entirely of rock songs in Cebuano. Missing Filemon was formed in 2002 with Lorenzo Niñal on guitars and vocals, Arni Aclao (of The Ire) on bass, and Eimer Tabasa on drums. Gumer Entero of Happy Days and Ritz Ariba of Frank sits in for the band in some sessions. Their first CD album which was self-titled was released in November 2002. It was released under the Cebuano outfit Independent Culture Records and was produced by Ian Zafra of Shiela and the Insects. Budoy Marabiles and Sandy Chiongbian appear in the album. After the release of their first album, they disappeared from the Cebuano music scene (although there was no official statement that they have disbanded). They returned in early 2005 and took in Cocoy Hermoso of Beverage for guitars and Ron Capio of Curious Blossoms for bass. (Aclao left Missing Filemon and reunited with his old band The Ire.) — Swiped from Wikipedia.

Inday
by Missing Filemon
Inday
Wa na sab tay tingganay
Lately man gud
Sige lang kag pangaway
Asta na akong hinapay
Imong gitamay
Inday
Please dont say to me goodbye
Unless you want to see me cry a river
Tanan nga gusto mo inday
Ihatag ko maputos man ko sa utang ok lang
Sulngon ko ang panggubatan
Pakamatyan ang buwan
Kabukiran laktason adlawng tanan
Inday
May lain ka ng kalipay
Lately man gud sige kang wa sa balay
Kanako ikaw kanunay
Nag likay likay
Inday
Please dont say to me goodbye
Unless you want to see me cry a river
Tanan nga gusto mo inday
Ihatag ko maputos man ko sa utang ok lang
Sulngon ko ang panggubatan
Pakamatyan ang buwan
Kabukiran laktason adlawng tanan
Help spread the Sound of the South!
