As with any ancient wishes, even Lapu-Lapu would indulge; if only, and had he outlived his 1521 today, with a shiny mind-boggling priced DSLR camera (of course!), every Sinulog Photographer covets the same old thing: To win in the yearly Sinulog Photo Contests!

This is our grandest way of sharing to you the best of Cebu City’s Sinulog Festival, highly regarded as the “mother of all Philippine festivals.”

Whether the photos are mundane, awesome or simply a fun dedication (Ooops! A new street slang emerged from our obsessive pursuits to get the most magnificent shots. We aptly call it in the Bisayan vernacular, “kinasing-kasing” even a Santo Niño devotee can’t help, but agree), we strive to survive the Sinulog events, come hell or high water — admittedly, unscathed in our amazing photography.

Nevermind his high school graduation photo, tacked on his P500 tangerine colored, registration ID; a far cry from his now wrinkled face and aching hips — up close and personal — his resilience surpasses those of festival queens! We, the enfants terribles, struggle sleeplessly, in this big city to make ends meet; modern-day innovative rebels we are, digital guerrillas armed with “kinasing-kasing na” tripods, lenses galore, camera systems, image tanks, and whatnot — in our herculean bag. Our utmost desires in these captured moments: to give you the culture, eclectic creative versions and unique visions of what photography is all about.

Good luck to all, you kick ass guys. Today’s our judgement day — with dazzling tens of thousands of submitted pictures and still going strong. CebuAsia would, rather, suggest (resounding to Ronald Suello’s pun-sentiments) to make a big tambiolo, instead; the size of the Sinulog stage at the Cebu City Sports Complex, to raffle these winning shots.
