CebuAsia January 2008 Hits and Statistics

Just like the 1521 man-of-the-century, Portuguese explorer, Ferdinand Magellan, in search for something unique (in his case, his raving wishes for a Spice Island), CebuAsia curiously sailed out, sans a flotilla of ships, on the Internet waters (one fine dawn of January 7, 2008).

The objective: to bring eclectic information about this Queen City of the South — as a “detailed independent travel guide to Cebu’s inside out.”

Barely a month after I launched this website from meager resources, singlehandedly making it a unique and independent online repository of the erstwhile and current buzz(es) in my little city called Metro Cebu, Philippines — call this a leap of faith now.

CebuAsia has breached a staggering, massive dose of traffic, unprecedented from across all other websites I made: 106,570 hits in just 17 days, post launching!

Off to a good start

This dramatic momentum, obviously from a traffic blast that has something to do with organic searches about the recent Sinulog events, comes from varied articles I have posted so far (with matching credits).

Making the most out of your CebuAsia experience

You can subscribe to our RSS feeds or you can get the same updates of CebuAsia to your emails — a better way to read from the comforts of your inbox, if you don’t have the luxury of time to browse a thousand sites in one sitting alone. Each time a new post appears, it will go directly to your email accounts.

Just type your email address on the box field provided on the upper right hand corner of this page, under those nifty-looking flags (universal translator). CebuAsia has sworn over Lapu-Lapu’s grave that your emails will not be sold, rented, pimped, shared, hoodwinked or sniped to other parties.

If you are interested to contribute articles and photographs (you retain the copyrights), please do not hesitate to email me at cebuasia [at] gmail com (just replace [at] with @ since spam is only good on the breakfast tables).

If you want to obtain an author status, you can directly register here, for free, at http://www.cebuasia.com/register today.

If you notice, too, a banner graces on every front page post. We are open to provide you banner/logo design services and online advertisements targeted to your market (for as low as $0.50/hour). Magellan wouldn’t have sailed that far — and get killed by the most brave of all, Kaliph Pulaka — if there was Internet back then.

I would like to thank all the visitors on this site and to friends (too many of them to mention now) for sharing this sweet little thing.

As always, comments and suggestions are welcomed. Let us all be creative conduits to free information.

Have a great day ahead!

Clee Villasor
